Opening up and a Break
We are officially open again, yet still with a few precautions/restrictions. We are still not allowing the kids to venture out, like going to the little store nearby, which I know is hard on them. As far as the adults, we are now being able to go out a little more. I try to do the minimum and usually just go to Juarez to get groceries and come back. Although, I did get the chance to take some time off and go on a vacation, for which I am so grateful.
When the pandemic started hitting our region hard, we assumed it would end in a couple of months. Unfortunately, it has not. So back then, we got a very good deal to fly to Cancun. So, a friend and I booked it. I realize many will not agree with our decision, but I hope you will not be quick to judge. Each one must make decisions according to the faith given to each. When the time approached and the lock-down kept being extended, we did reconsider and prayed whether we should continue with our vacation plans or not. We both felt we had peace and faith to do so and so we went. It was a good time, and it made me realize that I did need that time away.
Though I must confess, I did miss the kiddos. Especially when I would get pictures like these:
After Cancun, I made a quick visit to Chihuahua to visit my dad and brother. They were doing well, and I was finally able to celebrate their birthdays. We made carne asada since they both love steak. I didn’t get to bake them a cake and am grateful that they are easy to please because I was just not up for it. I had a few visits to make, at least from a distance, and a doctor’s appointment.
Towards the end of April, I remember I woke up and had a huge bruise on the inner side of my leg, right above the knee. I had no idea what happened, all I knew was that it hurt even when trying to walk. Although I do tend to dismiss things too easily, I was also prevented from doing much at that point because we were all in quarantine, so I went about like nothing. Except I was not able to be too active and had to be careful nothing would graze that part of my leg. The bruise stayed on for months, even now you can still see some of it. I had a few varicose veins on that part of the leg, so I assumed it might have something to do with that. Hence when I got to visit Chihuahua I went to check it out.
Turns out I had a Thrombosis, and it seems one burst, which is why I got the bruise. Praise God that I did not have any complications. The doctor sent me to get some tests done and found out I will need to have surgery. If you could help me pray that God would provide the resources to get it done soon and that it won’t burst. I trust God has already taken care of this and am praying I follow His lead on this matter and more so on the matter of continuing to love, even if from the distance, the kids God has placed in my heart.
